This book is aimed at providing inspiration to entrepreneurs anywhere in the world who have failed to get up, dust themselves off and keep on moving after their first attempt unsuccessful. Furthermore, in this book, I provide some basic information that can help entrepreneurs understand how they can go about running their businesses better. I provide knowledge that can help policy makers to understand the needs of entrepreneurs and how to address them.

In this book, I draw from existing literature, locally and internationally, to develop a tapestry of small businesses and their contribution to the South African economy.

I juxtapose my personal journey with a brief review of literature to share a picture of how I was inspired to be an entrepreneur. I hereby share many of my failures and what I learnt from them. Equally, I provide in-depth insight into my successes.

Lastly, the journey of entrepreneurship is not for the faint-hearted, but it’s a noble contribution to society in both the economic growth and development facets, and it must be done. Similarly, the men and women who stand up to be entrepreneurs must be given guidance and support such as in finance, access to information and modern technology.
